I love surprises! I love the idea of experiencing something I can’t imagine or didn’t realize I wanted. My daughter Autumn doesn’t enjoy surprises. She is very methodical about everything. Monday she went to 6th grade camp. She’s been planning for months and has been worried about forgetting things. She has been asking me, on a daily basis, tons of questions about what to expect. I keep assuring her everything will be fine. The fear of the unknown isn’t her friend and many tend to be the same way about new seasons and journeys the Lord has called them into.
But, I can’t help but be excited about what I’ve never experienced! I trust the Lord. He gave me the gift of faith which really comes in handy during new ventures like going blind! I really didn’t know what was going to happen to me after the stroke, but I knew I could trust Jesus in it, and I did. What very few people know is that Dean and I didn’t ask God to heal me. We simply said, “Yes, whatever you want to do Lord!” I trust Jesus!
Walk Into The Unknown
I know Autumn will have an amazing time, but she has to experience it for herself. Nothing I say will prepare her for what will unfold in front of her. She has to step out in faith and walk in this new journey. Just like Abram in Genesis 12:1-3. At 75 years old God told him to leave his family, all he knew, and his financial security to walk in the unknown to become the father of many nations. This is faith, and without it, it’s impossible to please God. Hebrews 11:6.
Pastor Jim said Sunday, “Within you are housed the dreams God intends to change the world.”
What dream is God stirring up in you? What new venture is He calling you to walk out? Are you ready to shift your vision to what God is showing you?
Be blessed in your new adventure!
