“God uses weak vessels”? Really? Yes – really! I know this because He uses me. You know this because He uses you. We are God’s deliberate “choice.”
1 Corinthians 1:27 says, “But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong,”
Who do you consider “weak”? Remember, the weak are God’s own choice!
Weak Vessels are God’s Vessels
Children are considered “weak.” The elderly are considered “weak.” Teenagers are often considered “foolish”. So, let’s make them our choice for they are God’s choice. It is not our strength that counts-it is His (Zechariah 4:6)! How much greater will His power be shown through those who are considered powerless.
Sure, they need equipping, training, encouraging, and so forth. However, they are so often passed by because of our own filters and perceptions. This is our problem, not theirs, and especially not God’s.
May I encourage you today to make a list of those you consider “weak and foolish”? Name some children, teens, and elderly. Then ask God to give you His vision for them. Having done this, ask God to give you His strategies and wisdom to minister to these people. It may well start with building relationships, like taking a child, teenager, or elderly person out for the day and go from there. It is called FUN and you will be surprised as you see what God sees. Let’s start seeing in people what God sees and empower them to engage their story.
Seeing with new eyes,
