Nursery

We welcome you and your child to this nurturing ministry of Zion’s River. We believe, as Jesus did, all children should be ministered to and believe it starts at birth. Our Nursery is for infants and toddlers through 3 years old. Our goal is to not only provide physical care, but also spiritual nurturing that partners with you, the parents, to demonstrate the love of Jesus to His children.

WHAT TO BRING
When packing a diaper bag for your child, please include the following items:

  • Two or three disposable diapers (no cloth diapers, please)
  • A complete change of clothes
  • Bottle of milk, formula, juice or water
  • Please label all personal items with your child’s name, which will help us to keep track of your child’s items.

WHEN YOU ARRIVE
A Nursery Attendant will meet you at the door for check-in, to receive your child, his or her diaper bag and any other necessary items. Please supply to the attendant any information that will help us in caring for your child, such as feeding times, sleeping times, allergies and special needs. At the time of check-in, you will be given a receipt that matches your child’s Identification label and pager that has an identifying number on it. The pager will vibrate and flash if we need to contact you during the worship service, so please keep it near or in eyesight at all times (it is not advisable to keep it in a purse, as you may not hear it vibrating). After you have completed the check-in process, simply wave a quick good-bye and leave for the worship service. As you know, it is normal for little ones to cry when a parent leaves. This does not last long, and separation becomes easier over time. Our Nursery Attendants will immediately create interest in a toy or activity and give assurance that you will return. If your child cries for an extended period of time, we will page you.

SNACKS
Snacks are provided to the new walkers and toddlers. Please notify the attendants if your child has any known allergies.

CURRICULUM
We believe that even the littlest ones can learn! Regular learning experiences are planned including Bible stories, songs, and activities that reinforce the lesson, all designed with the ability of the children in mind.

PICK-UP PROCEDURE
Please present both your receipt and the pager upon return to the nursery. We will verify your receipt and pager number matches the number on your child’s Identification label and then we’ll release your child to you. A child will not be released to a parent without presentation of the correct receipt, pager and proper identification if requested. As the parent of the child if you choose to have another adult pick up your child, please ensure they are over 18, and have both the correct receipt and pager.

IF YOUR CHILD IS SICK
In order to protect the other children in the nursery, please do not check them in if they have a fever, diarrhea, runny nose, or if they are otherwise ill.

Please make sure that all of your child’s personal items have been returned to you before you leave the Nursery. Lost and found items will be retained for a short time, and can be collected if identified from the Nursery Attendant.
