What We Believe

Zion’s River Statement of Faith

  • We believe in One God existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Together, their joy is to create and give life! (Genesis 1:1-2, 26-28; Psalm 139:13-16; John 1:1-5; Colossians 1:15-16; Hebrews 1:10-12, 13:8)
  • We believe all people, born at all times and places, are children of God; and it is His greatest desire to show them the full extent of His love by bringing them back home under His reign. (Psalm 139:13-16; John 3:16-17; Luke 15:11-32; Acts 17:24-27)
  • We believe Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection demonstrate God’s love for all people and His desire to see all saved; that is, restored, healed and released into their original divine story by their believing. (Luke 4:18-19; John 1:18, 3:16, 7:37-38, 10:9, 12:44-47; Romans 3:21-24, 5:1, 5:10, 8:31-39, 10:8-11; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, 12-26; Ephesians 2:8-9)
  • We believe God intends for all believers to be filled, empowered, and led by the Spirit of God for the abundant life Jesus promised. (Matthew 3:11-12; Acts 2:1-4; 8:14-17; 10:44-46; John 7:37-38; John 14:15-17; 16:7-11; Luke 24:49; Romans 12:4-8)
  • We believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God, without error in its intended meaning and message. It is God’s story of love, hope and vision for all humanity. (2 Timothy 3:16; 1 Corinthians 2:13; Hebrews 4:12-13; 2 Peter 1:16-21)
  • We believe humanity has a spiritual enemy whose primary goal is to rob individuals of their divine story through the deception that comes by their own free will. (John 10:10; Genesis 3:1-7; Romans 3:9; Matthew 4:1-11; Ephesians 6:12)
  • We believe Jesus’ resurrection offers all humanity the hope of their resurrection in the final restoration of all things if they choose to believe. (1 Corinthians 15:12-19; Acts 17:24-27; Romans 6:23; 1 Peter 1:3-5; 2 Peter 3:8-13)
